2018 Review at Schools Plus!
2018 has been a truly remarkable year at Schools Plus! We’ve taken on a lot of exciting new Schools and signed lots of long-term contract extensions at our existing Schools. We’ve hosted many large events including Weddings, Summer Camps and Music Festivals and we’ve also hosted even more smaller events including Knitting Groups, Pottery Classes and Charity Football Games.
We’d like to share our stories of success and growth this year over two Blog Posts. In this first Blog Post, we’ll be sharing some messages from key members of our Senior Leadership containing their reflections on the year gone by.
Let’s begin with a message from our Business Development Manager Simon Kidby;
As 2018 draws to a close I wanted say how immensely proud I am to work for Schools Plus Ltd. We have raised over £3 million pounds for our partner client schools in 2018, bringing much needed revenue for Schools struggling with funding cuts. This money will be used by our client schools to fund much needed resources, teachers and essential maintenance to name three.
I’d like to say a special thank you to my Customer Contact Centre team Alice, Sophie, Sean, Donna, Odette, Krista, Jasmine, Daiva and Conor who have played a massive part in our success not to mention have been an inspiration in their work ethic, commitment and just a joy to work with over the last 12 months!
It’s been a very busy year for the previously mentioned Customer Contact Centre. Not only has our office grown in terms of employees from four to nine, there was also the exciting Office move in April. Having now out grown our generous first base it seemed a good time in early April to upgrade to a larger office in Bournemouth!
Our Operations Director Ernesto Coll, wanted to use his end of year message to recognise the important charity work Schools Plus has carried out this year and how important it is to us as a business;
As we come to the end of the year it’s gratifying to note that we continue to grow, increase our donations to the schools and we do it with heart. As the festive season approaches we remember those less fortunate than us, as we partner up with Schools to home the homeless over the festive period. It is true that neither the school or us make any money out of this, but it is the right thing to do
It was a big year for expanding our catalogue of Partner Schools, as we were fortunate enough to add nine fantastic Schools to our roster. One of these Schools was an addition to our strong collection of Schools in the North of England; York High School in North Yorkshire.
Four of these Schools came from the celebrated Inspiration Trust, a multi-academy trust of academies and free schools in East Anglia, England. Jane Austen College, Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form, Thetford Academy and The Hewett Academy were all welcomed with open arms into the Schools Plus family and we’ve been delighted to see their facilities busy and booked up each weekend.
Away from East Anglia, we welcomed three new Schools in the London Area. One of these new Schools, Harris Academy St John’s Wood was an addition to our ever-growing partnership with the Harris Federation. The other London Schools were George Mitchell School in Leyton and Buxton School in Leytonstone.
Our final quote comes from Andrew Halliwell our Finance Director and includes a detailed financial look into the past year…
2018 has been another record breaking year for Schools Plus. The amount we pay over to our client schools has increased to over £3m, a 20% growth in what we return to them. Our sites have been busier than ever with overall sales increasing by around £1m and we served around 85,000 bookings during the year!
We hope you’ve enjoyed our recap of the year gone by! It’s been a great year full of new Schools, new Customers and new Ventures for all of us. If you visited one of our Schools this year, thank you very much and if you’re thinking about visiting us next year then we’ll see you very soon!
