At Schools Plus, we’re proud to work with schools that not only deliver exceptional education but also play a vital role in their communities. One such example is Haberdashers’ Knights Academy (HAKA) in Lewisham, South London—a school defined by transformation, ambition, and opportunity.
From Malory School to HAKA
Originally established as Malory School, the site underwent a major transformation when it joined the Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation in 2005. Today, it stands as a thriving all-through academy for ages 11–18, supported by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers’ and the Temple Grove Schools Trust.
In January 2025, HAKA opened its brand-new Sixth Form Centre—a modern space with private study areas, seminar-style classrooms, and social zones overlooking Canary Wharf, symbolising the academy’s ambition to raise aspirations even higher.
Academic & Vocational Excellence
Knights Academy is committed to creating multiple pathways to success.
- 🎓 A-Level achievement: 60% of students attained A*–C grades in 2024.
- 💼 Vocational strength: 86% of students earned Distinction or higher in vocational courses.
This blend of academic and vocational excellence ensures that every student can thrive, whatever their chosen route.

Enterprise & Innovation
HAKA fosters leadership and creative thinking beyond exams. In 2023, a Year 13 team called “FinLite” reached the finals of the prestigious Livery Academy Awards, pitching a digital solution to improve young people’s financial literacy—an idea that won praise from City professionals and judges.
Sporting Success
The academy is also known for its Football and Basketball Academies, with professional coaching and outstanding facilities. Knights consistently ranks highly at inter-Haberdashers’ competitions, including top finishes in athletics.
This commitment to sport builds resilience, teamwork, and opportunity both on and off the field.

Inspiring Enrichment
HAKA students regularly benefit from visits and mentoring by leading figures. Guests have included:
- Tim Campbell MBE, business leader and winner of The Apprentice
- Chris Achiampong, former Knights head boy and Liverpool FC scout
- Legal and academic mentors from institutions like the Old Bailey and Oxford University
These experiences encourage students to aim high and believe in their potential.
Alumni to Inspire
One of HAKA’s proud alumni is Cameron Chastanet-Hird, a Sociology graduate and TeachFirst participant recognised as one of the UK’s top 150 African-Caribbean students. His story is just one example of the academy’s impact on future leaders.
Our Partnership
At Schools Plus, we are honoured to support Haberdashers’ Knights Academy by opening its excellent facilities to the wider community. From classrooms and sports halls to specialist spaces, these venues provide opportunities for local clubs, organisations, and events—helping the academy extend its influence far beyond the school day.
Together, we are building stronger communities, greater opportunities, and lasting impact. #
