Schools Plus was founded in 2004 by two social entrepreneurs, James & Francis Woods, with a mission to transform community use of schools. They were motivated to capture the missed opportunity of unused school facilities out-of-hours and convert them into thriving community hubs that could earn much-needed revenue for our country’s schools.

Steve Wilks, the headteacher of Oaks Park High School, in Ilford in Essex, approved their first contract and asked Schools Plus to manage their school lettings, thus becoming the new company’s first client. The employees and customers of Schools Plus all owe a debt of thanks to Mr Wilks and everyone at Oaks Park for entrusting the company with this opportunity, and we are very proud to say that we continue to serve at Oaks Park to this day.

From these small beginnings Schools Plus has grown into a flourishing organisation, serving schools nationwide and enjoying an enviable rate of growth and success. The company’s client base reflects the diversity of schools in the country today, from small primaries to some of the largest secondaries, and in locations varying from quiet seaside to city centre.
