I don\u2019t know about you but, I can safely say that I don\u2019t know anyone that doesn\u2019t like a good film. Whether that is a good comedy or an all-out action blockbuster, there\u2019s usually a genre for everyone. I myself like a good sci-fi or horror. There\u2019s nothing like being able to sit down for a couple of hours and forget that the world we know exists. Going to the cinema or staying at home with the curtains drawn and the lights off, gives us that escapism. Quite frankly, with today\u2019s stresses, we really need an outlet that allows us to forget our own troubles.<\/p>\n

Of course, the movies are more than just about being able to forget your own troubles. They are a way of inspiring us, a way of bringing light to situations that we may never have known much about. Isn\u2019t that what films like \u2018Schindler\u2019s List\u2019, \u2018American Sniper\u2019, \u2018My Left Foot\u2019, \u2018Nixon\u2019, \u2018Remember The Titans\u2019, \u2018We Were Soldiers\u2019, \u2018World Trade Centre\u2019, \u2018Twelve Years A Slave\u2019 and \u2018The Theory Of Everything\u2019 are partly about? Each of these films shows us an insight into our own history and the hero\u2019s that standout through remarkable hardship or stand up to tyranny.<\/p>\n

I was lucky enough to find myself on the set of a new movie that\u2019s due to be released in the next couple of months. One of the things that struck me about the filming process was the need for locations of a great diversity. This of course made me think of all of the schools that Schools Plus manages. As I worked through our website, viewing the photos of our schools, it certainly became apparent how lucky we are to be able to work in some of the most amazing settings that this country has to offer. We have schools that look like they were created for the future by an advanced civilisation beyond our own. Yet others could have quite easily been plucked from a Jane Austin novel.
