We thought this would be a great way to find out more about Schools Plus staff. There is a huge array of jobs and people here at Schools Plus so every interview will be totally different. You will get an insight into their day to day life, their time before Schools Plus and a bit more about the team.
Who are you?
Alicia
What is your role at Schools Plus?
Area manager
As Schools Plus is all over the country where are you based?
Usually at home, but almost equally frequent at an office space we’ve got at one of my schools in East London
How long have you worked for Schools Plus?
4 years
What did you do before you worked at Schools Plus?
Events Management, credit control & London transport
What is your favourite part about working for Schools Plus?
First time in my London work life have I worked with such lovely people. The best part.
Can you describe a typical working day for you?
Wake, check voicemail’s, give the call-backs, where chances are there’s an email associated with that call, then jump on emails and work through them. There are weeks when I’m either attending site to get an Ops report done, or other times attending meetings with the Client.
My day also see me touching base with my venue managers frequently, sometimes to follow-up on previous requests, other times to simply ask them if there’s anything they’d like me to look at with them.
Separate to this, I venue manage 2 schools myself so typical day will involve everything from answering enquiries both on phone and email, getting them booked in, and working physical shifts on site as well.
What do you think the future holds for Schools Plus?
I see Schools Plus leading the school lettings industry where the brand will become very known Nationally, and where their staff will be one of the key factors contributing to this and it’s success.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Spare time? (things that make you go hmmm) – I’ll have to say it’s the gym. I loveeee a good gym workout.
You are a crayon in the box what colour would you be and why?
I’d be Black because I’d be the crayon that changes the societal perception of what Black really means.
Finally, what is your favourite song and why?
‘Dear God’ by Boyz to Men because that’s one of the songs played at my grandfather’s funeral wake and it’s the song my grandmother loves me to sing to her when I’m home visiting. (Yep I can sing 🙂 )
Come back next week to see our next interview of the series.
