We thought this would be a great way to find out more about Schools Plus staff. There is a huge array of jobs and people here at Schools Plus so every interview will be totally different. You will get an insight into their day to day life, their time before Schools Plus and a bit more about the team.

Human Resources Administrator

Kelsall, Cheshire
How long have you worked for Schools Plus?
14 months
What did you do before you worked at Schools Plus?
HR Manager for a multi-academy trust of schools in Milton Keynes
What is your favourite part about working for Schools Plus?
The variety of the role which covers everything from placing adverts for staff to training to payroll. It also rapidly changing in terms of HR, so you’re on a constant learning curve, making sure you’re up to date with legislation.
Can you describe a typical working day for you?
You never know from day to day what you will be dealing with. If it’s the beginning of the month then you can bet I’ll be knee deep in payroll and pensions.
What do you think the future holds for Schools Plus?
I think Schools Plus can only get bigger and better. The potential is massive when you think how many schools there are and how strapped for cash the education sector is. Schools making use of their facilities and not having to pay site staff overtime to do so, is a huge factor for schools and constraints on their budgets so, quite frankly, using Schools Plus makes sense!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I have just moved house so spare time has been a little bit short in supply. I have a daft Rough Collie called Brent and we enjoy long walks. I love to read – I always have a good book on the go. I am currently looking at the Open University again and I enjoy studying.
You are a crayon in the box what colour would you be and why?
Green – I love living in the countryside and green reminds me of summer and the trees in full leaf.
Finally, what is your favourite song and why?
Etta James – At Last – My Love has Come Along. Love the words to this song, always makes me think of my husband, Dale.
