2018 Review at Schools Plus!
We’d like to share with you our stories of success and growth in 2018 over two exciting Blog Posts! In our first Blog (here!) we shared with you the thoughts and reflections of our several key members of our senior leadership team. Today, we’ll be hearing some stories from our Venue Managers, reflecting on key events and moments from our Schools.
2018 saw Schools Plus securing the services of nine new Schools across the country. Our Venue Manager Michelle Lucas, was instrumental in helping us set up at four new Schools in East-Anglia…
“I started at School Plus at the end of 2017 taking on a brand-new set of four Schools in Norfolk. These Schools all went live on 2nd January 2018, which was a very exciting start to the year!
One of the stand out success stories at my Schools this year happened at Hewett Academy, when we started working alongside East Coast Emeralds! This club now have their permanent home at Hewett Academy and their opening night was filmed by the BBC!
I am very excited to keep developing all four Schools in 2019, I know this will be a great year may even see more Norfolk schools join the portfolio”
We are constantly trying our best to maintain happy and fruitful business relationships with each School we have, and our on-site Venue Managers are a key part of this. Venue Manager Robert Sladden gave his thoughts on his 2018…
‘It has been a great year as the major milestone was securing Ark Globe Academy’s renewal of the contract. Really great to know they are very happy with the team working at the Globe and they want to continue to work with Schools Plus for another three years. Great end to the year!’
We’ve been lucky enough to recruit a host of new and very talented Venue Managers this year, here is new Venue Manager Derek Smith’s thoughts on recently joining School Plus…
“Having Joined Schools plus in the middle of August, I have been overwhelmed by the support from everyone within the company with a special thanks to my Team leader Anita at Pimlico Academy.
The role has been made a lot easier by the support of our contact centre, which i was able to go and experience first-hand the excellent work being done. My highlight so far must be the Ola Latina night at Pimlico in December which went on until 3am!”
2018 turned out to be a very significant year for the staff and students at Kensington Alridge Academy as they returned to their original School Site after moving out due to the tragedy of Grenfell Tower, which was close by. Our Venue Manager Lisa Berryman, who works at the School gave her thoughts on this emotional time…
“KAA has bounced back with huge positivity after the awful devastation of Grenfell tower with the loss of loved ones and the traumatic time it caused so many. Seeing the community projects back at Kensington Aldridge Academy is an amazing feeling and shows that creating spaces in local schools is imperative for communities. We have had lots of Grenfell group activities and it has been a pleasure to be able to support these over the last few months. I feel very proud of Schools plus being able to be part of building back this amazing part of West London.”
We finish the Blog with thoughts from Dave Maher, a Venue Manager who skilfully looks after several sites for Schools Plus in the North of England…
“2018 has been a strong year for Schools Plus. Financially and operationally we have gone from strength to strength and this has been felt by our partner schools. At the core of what we do is our fantastic, professional staff who are on the ground day in and day out, they live our values and set the world class standard of what we are. 2019 looks to be very exciting as we continue to grow, and I look forward to our expansion”
We hoped you enjoyed hearing a few stories from a select number of Venue Managers. We have many talented Venue Managers across the country, each with their own stories and memorable events from the year and we’re sorry we couldn’t find the blog space for thoughts from all of them!
