At Schools Plus, you’ll hear us talk a lot about providing our Partner Schools with an additional revenue stream from our bookings and services. This isn’t possible without you, our customers, using our venues for your activities and in turn paying the booking fee for the hire.
Today, we wanted to break down where this booking fee goes precisely and how we share our profits with our Partner Schools.
Your booking fee will directly contribute to the following three areas; Providing our Partner Schools with additional revenue, Paying our staff and, if possible, Profit to help Schools Plus continue to grow.
Let’s look into each of those areas separately to help explore the direct impact of what your booking fee helps with. First, the most important part of our business and why we do what we do, providing schools with additional revenue.
A direct percentage of your booking fee will go directly back to the Partner School, where your booking is held. This percentage is pre-agreed between Schools Plus and the Partner School when we agree on our contract and can change on a School-to-School basis.
This additional income is entirely up for each of our partner school’s individually to decide how to spend. Some will choose to buy new equipment; others will put the money towards expanding or redeveloping parts of the school or funding their pupils’ trips. However, they do spend it; we’re just glad that the schools have this additional revenue stream in place.
The next part of where your booking fee goes to paying for our staff. We need to pay our staff otherwise your booking cannot take place. A fraction of your booking fee will pay these wages from the Enquiries team who booked you into our on-site support staff such as Venue Supervisors and Team Leaders to the other departments such as Sales and Marketing.
The final section of your booking fee is Profit. Profit is the smallest takeaway of your booking fee, and sometimes, if there’s no money left after giving out our partner school’s payment and our staff’s payments, it may not exist at all. With any profits we make, these allow our business to remain sustainable to continue helping schools each year and to reinvest into constantly improving the service that we provide to both clients and customers.
We hope you enjoyed finding out more about where your money and booking go and how it helps out our schools. We think it is essential for our customers to understand that they directly impact helping the schools they book in.
