There can be a lot to think about before first getting in touch to book your event or activity with us at Schools Plus. It’s important to go through this consideration process, as it can save both yourself and our enquiry team valuable time.
We’d like to take this blog to go through the five most important questions we would advise that you consider before first getting in touch with us to make a booking. We truly believe if you know these five things in advance of having that first phone call, or email, with us then you will be able to greatly speed up the booking process.
1) Which of our Venues would you like to book in?
With an ever-growing estate of Partner Schools located across the country, we would like to hope we can now offer you a choice of multiple venues to pick from when deciding where to host your activity.
With this level of choice, we recognise it can sometimes be easier to ask a member of our enquiry team to recommend you a venue instead which they are of course more than happy to do. However, to save time our staff will often suggest you take a look at our Venues For Hire page if you haven’t already.
This page, found here, contains our helpful interactive map which can often reveal Partner Schools local to you, that you might not have known we had as venue options.
2) Is a School a suitable location for your booking?
We try our best to facilitate each and every booking request that we can, from Children’s birthday parties to Dance Classes and Council Meetings. However, above all else, we have to respect the wishes of our Partner Schools and from these common concerns, we do have companywide restrictions on the types of bookings that we cannot host.
Of course, you are more than welcome to check with our Enquiries Team on the suitability of your booking. However, if you have any reservations on this, we suggest it would be best to take the time to consider it yourself beforehand and then if you’d like to check anyway, raise your worries as early as possible in your conversations with our team members.
3) Which Facility would be best to host your activity in?
With our choice of Venues growing, as does our choice of Facility types and options. We have everything from Sports Halls and 3G Pitches as well as Theatres, Lecture Halls and Classrooms to consider.
This level of choice can cause some confusion on where best to host your activity, but we’ve previously written a blog that helps you easily identify which facility type is suitable for each activity type. We would recommend having a read of this blog post if you had any concerns on this issue!
4) Will this be a Regular or One-Off Booking?
For some booking requests, such as an annual religious gathering or a summer holiday camp, it will be quite clear if they are bookings that will take place on a one-off basis or for a set number of sessions.
However, sometimes it’s not so clear. Sometimes you might book a casual sports game, such as football or netball, which goes so well that your group might want to carry it on for a few more weeks.
We will always try our best to cater for situations like this, however sometimes with a busy booking calendar, it isn’t always possible.
This is why we would advise carefully considering if you would like to book multiple sessions of your activity when you first get in contact with us. We know it’s sometimes not always easy to gauge how well a booking will go, but it can save both yourself and our enquiries team some time if you book in advance at the same time as your initial booking.
5) Can your activity be run safely?
The pandemic has caused us all to look at the situations we find ourselves in with a new awareness for safety. This is no different for us at Schools Plus.
We would ask you to check which nationwide public health restrictions, if any, are currently in place and to check further with a member of our staff if you are concerned if your booking can take place or not. We are always more than happy to help in these situations.
We continue to hold the health and safety of our Staff, our Partner School’s Students and Staff and our Customers in the highest importance.
We hope going through the five points above has helped you feel more prepared to make a booking with us. We know sometimes it can feel somewhat daunting making a booking with a new company, or even with a company that you’ve used previously, but hopefully having the above questions sorted in advance can give you the confidence to breeze through the booking process!
