St Mark’s Academy is a popular Church of England secondary school and sixth form in the Eastfield’s area of the South-West London Borough of Merton. We’re delighted to partner with them to provide facility hire here on Evenings, Weekends and School Holidays.
This blog will take you on a tour of the academy and show the fantastic facilities available to hire here. Let’s start with one of the most popular facilities found at St Mark’s Academy in the Sports Hall.
The Sports Hall has sprung wooden flooring and is primarily used for basketball. With a recommended capacity of over 200 guests, the Sports Hall can cater for larger basketball training sessions, games and tournaments.
If you wanted an alternative indoor sporting facility then the Gymnasium is a great option. The mirrored walls here make a great addition to fitness or dance classes. The Gymnasium has a classic old-school styling which might suit some bookings well.
There are plenty of facilities to pick from for the less active bookings as well, starting with the Main Hall. This bright and spacious location is an ideal venue for conferences, concerts as well as a wide range of community gatherings and events. There is a stage here along with sound mixers, spotlights, projectors and a screen all available to help enhance your booking.
Connected to the Main Hall by a partition is a smaller hall, known as the Heart Space. This break-out space is a great location to include with bigger bookings across the academy that could do with the extra space. This open-plan space also connects to the Dining Hall which is also available to hire.
For non-sport bookings that don’t need as much space as the Main Hall or Hearth Space, then it’s worth considering the Drama Studio. This blacked-out room can accommodate up to 60 guests and has curtains, a projector, screen, and speakers all available for use. A great venue for performing arts bookings for either rehearsals or smaller shows.
The last facility we have to ‘show’ you around is the 2G Astro Pitch. The pitch can be hired either full size (11 v 11) or as two smaller (7 v 7) pitches. This flexibility makes it a very popular facility to hire at the academy and a great home for local football teams and leagues.
