A child celebrating their birthday is a special occasion that everyone looks forward to! However, with this comes the pressure of wanting to get it right and throw them a special day to remember, luckily at Schools Plus we’ve had the experience of hosting thousands of these parties across our Partner Schools so we know what works.
Across this blog, we will talk you through what we believe are the Top 10 Children’s Birthday Parties options that will make sure your loved little ones will have the best day possible!
1) Dance Party
We’re sure we don’t have to tell you this, but little ones really love to move! A lot! So why not hire out a Hall or Dance Studio, put some music on and watch them go. With optional extras such as crash mats, catering and perhaps even a local DJ, you can make it a Dance Party to remember.
2) Football Party
For the younger ones that want to not only move about a lot but kick a lot as well! There are plenty of options when it comes to Football Parties, with the main choice being vs inside or outside bookings. Sports Halls are perfect for indoor play whereas you have a few options outside from Grass Pitches to Astro Pitches or MUGAs.
3) Roller Skating
Another great active activity for children is roller skating, which again can take place either inside or outside depending not only on the facilities available to you but the time of the year as well as this isn’t the best activity for a rainy winter day outside.
4) Inflatable Fun (Bouncy Castles and Courses)
Inflatables can be a big hit for a party, with the classic Bouncy Castle of course always being a show stealer. It’s not just Bouncy Castles that are available these days, however, as there are plenty of ‘fun run’ style Inflatable courses out there to keep everyone entertained.
5) ‘Themed’ Dress Up Parties
Costume Parties aren’t just for Halloween, as kids love dressing up as their favourite Book, TV and Film characters all year long. As well as dressing up, you can also ‘dress up’ the venue you book to suit the occasion as well, and why not try even theming the food as well? There’s so much you can do!
6) Laser Tag
For a party with a bigger budget and location, why not look into setting up a Laser Tag party! This popular game might take some outside help to get fully going, but it’s well worth the effort, especially for slightly older kids.
7) Nerf Gun Party
Another party idea that might suit older kids a little more than younger ones, a Nerf Gun Party doesn’t take the same level of set-up as a Laser Tag party, but it gets near enough the same results of kids running around having a good time anyway!
8) Petting Zoo
Although not always appropriate to host for all our Partner Schools, we couldn’t resist mentioning the Petting Zoo party. Get in contact with a local farm and see what animals they would lend you for a party that everyone will remember for a long time!
9) Slim Party
Slim Parties have really taken off in popularity over recent years and if you’ve ever attended one, it’s quickly easy to see why. Taking the best parts of arts and crafts and adding even more fun, what could go wrong! See this guide on how to run the best Slime Party possible.
10) Bake Off Party
Another Party idea to get the creative ideas going is throwing a mini-Bake Off Party. Although perhaps it might be best to let your ‘judges’ know early that they shouldn’t expect 3-course meals heading in.
