April 20th marked a significant milestone for Schools Plus as we celebrated our 20th birthday with a conference held at Oaks Park High School in Ilford. Our first ever school to sign up to Schools Plus and put their faith in at the time a revolutionary concept to help schools earn more revenue by hiring out their facilities when they were not in use. We want to say a massive thank you to Oaks Park for hosting us at your wonderful school.
It was a day filled with reflection, recognition, and anticipation for the future, attended by a fantastic turnout of our dedicated customer contact centre staff, team leaders, and area managers.
The day marked the first of three conferences we will hold up and down the country, starting with the south to ensure everyone from the company is in close enough proximity to attend!
The conference kicked off with in depth and interactive discussions about our operations, led by Wayne Cryer, our esteemed Operations Director. We delved deep into our company values, traction plan, and most importantly, the future of Schools Plus, hosted by our dynamic Managing Director, James Woods.
To add a touch of fun and camaraderie to the proceedings, we enjoyed an upbeat quiz hosted by Hollee Glass, our energetic Marketing Manager. Laughter filled the room as teams competed for victory, with quiz winners receiving Amazon vouchers to treat themselves, while the losers received a humorous booby prize of Schools Plus branded socks.
Amidst all the discussions and activities, we made sure to keep everyone’s energy levels up with a delicious spread of halal, vegan, and vegetarian lunch options. No one went hungry as we indulged in a variety of delectable dishes, ensuring everyone was fuelled for the rest of the day’s festivities.
In the afternoon session, our first-ever customer, Jason Hindley, took the stage to lead us through a self-defence training exercise. With his expertise and passion for personal safety, Jason guided us through practical techniques and strategies to empower ourselves in challenging situations. It was not only a valuable lesson in self-defence but also a reminder of the strong relationships we’ve built with our customers over the years. Jason’s involvement underscored the collaborative spirit and trust that define our partnerships, serving as a testament to the enduring bonds forged through our shared commitment to excellence.
One of the highlights of the day was a heartwarming appearance by James’ children, Lydia and Teddy, who added a touch of warmth and family spirit to the event. Lydia even bravely lent a hand in assisting with the quiz, much to the delight of everyone present.
As a special treat to commemorate our 20th year in business, attendees were presented with yummy, decorated Schools Plus cupcakes, symbolising two decades of growth, innovation, and success.
Reflecting on the past two decades, it’s clear that Schools Plus has come a long way. We’ve expanded to meet growing demand, evolved to adapt to changing times, and continuously strive to meet the needs of our customers and clients. Yet, as we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to the future with optimism and determination to continue evolving and delivering exceptional service for many years to come. Here’s to the next 20 years of success and beyond!
