Saturday, July 27th was another incredible day for Schools Plus as we celebrated our second 20th birthday conference at The Adeyfield School in Hemel Hempstead. A huge thank you to Neil and his team for hosting us, and a special shoutout to Sam Cullum and the HR team for organising everything and making sure the day ran smoothly.
We were delighted to have Liz Campos (especially since it was her birthday!), Ernesto Coll, and Sam Cullum along with her HR team attending. Their presence added a special touch to the celebration.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome from our Managing Director, James Woods, and a fun opening quiz hosted by Hollee Glass our Marketing Manager, which set the tone for a fun and engaging day.
Our Operations Director, Wayne Cryer, led an in-depth discussion about our operations, how we’re getting on so far this year and what to expect from Operations in the near future! Followed by an engaging presentation on our traction plan by our Managing Director, James Woods, who explained how the company is expanding and our plan over the next 6 years. The sessions kept everyone involved and focused on our company’s future.
We enjoyed an invigorating self-defense session with Peter, which was both practical and empowering. It was a great way to learn new skills while having fun. It was encouraging to see everyone interacting and getting involved with colleagues they may not have had the opportunity to meet in person.
Lunch was a highlight, with an incredible spread provided by our amazing caterers. The delicious variety ensured everyone was well-fed and happy to lead us into the second half of the day.
Ernesto Coll’s safeguarding presentation in the afternoon was informative and well-received, offering valuable insights into this critical area. Safeguarding is of utmost importance to us at Schools Plus so having Ernesto in this new position and being able to hear your questions answered lead us to believe we had made a great leap towards our safeguarding efforts.
James Woods then took us through our company values, an open discussion on whether we need to refresh our values and hearing the ideas of all our colleagues to potentially form some refreshed values in the future. The session reinforced what makes Schools Plus special.
Hollee Glass returned with a closing quiz that had everyone laughing and competing for prizes. The day wrapped up with a thank you from James Woods and an opportunity for informal mingling before departures.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made the day so special. Here’s to the next 20 years of Schools Plus!
