Schools Plus Team Leaders are key members of our on site teams, tasked with the vital responsibility of making sure their customer’s activities and events run smoothly. They are the friendly first face you see when you arrive for your booking and the ones who lock up after you leave!
Arielle is the Team Leader at Hewett Academy, our partner school in Norwich, and has kindly provided us with some details and photos to demonstrate what a typical working shift looks like for her.
To start, Arielle arranges the reception area by putting out the Schools Plus signs, leaflets and posters so customers easily recognise where to go.
Then she sets up the rooms for the various upcoming bookings at the school. Examples of her regular requirements include moving dining room tables to the sides for a dance group, setting up basketball hoops and equipment for league games and arranging trampolines for intense fitness classes.
During sorting out the equipment, Arielle will clear away any un-needed school equipment, as well as checking all fire routes and exits to make sure they clear and unblocked.
Once all rooms are ready to go, Arielle then opens the doors and greets customers who sign in at the front desk!
For any new customers, the fire protocol is explained, assembly points shown, and fire routes and exits pointed out. They are then made aware of the site telephone number, an option to use if they experience any problems during their booking.
Once the first customers have been shown to their facilities, Arielle then stays at reception to greet any other arriving customers, answers the site mobile and performs regular patrols throughout the site.
She also takes any potential customers who have come to view specific facilities for a tour, updates any relevant paperwork and makes sure that any important updates are relayed to the rest of the staff members on the team.
Getting towards the end of the shift, Arielle checks in with customers to confirm their booking went without a hitch and that the rooms are all left as they were received. Once everything has returned back to normal, Arielle takes down any branded material, puts away all paperwork and locks all the rooms.
A key priority for Arielle is to gather feedback from the customers on how their bookings went, so she often stays a while catching up with the customers on their way out. It’s important to confirm everything went smoothly and build establishing relationships with everyone on site.
Finally, after double checking the site is clear, turning on any alarms and padlocking the gates, Arielle heads home!
We hope you enjoyed hearing about Arielle’s shift at Hewett Academy, we’re sure this mirrors a typical shift for all of our busy Schools Plus Team Leaders across the country.
