An Eventful Week
Since this is my first blog EVER, it may well be a load of garble, but hey…….everyone has to start somewhere!
So we have mock exams on at the moment, I think for our Y11 students, which is of course very important. What is also very important is that I keep my customers happy. Cue a hectic race against time on Thursday evening to move 140 table and chairs out of the hall to make room for the very energetic Zumba group (aka The Zumba Ladies) delivered by Charlotte Macari and then back again afterwards, ready for the next day’s exam. I can hear you ask: “why!!!??” already. Well, the sports hall has Bradwell FC’s young team in, the Activity Studio is used by Ron Case to teach one how to “spin on your head” as Ron puts it (this is actually quite a cool street dance class,) so there is no other viable space to use. What makes it all so worth it, is the fact that “the Zumba Ladies” are such a happy lot, always smiling, having a bit of banter and if I stood just outside the door during the class, it’s like having my own personal rave! Luckily Zumba takes place inside, otherwise the whole of Tunstall and Burslem may be raving with me. Hahaha! I love it!
On Friday, we shall be taking delivery of a load of staging for this weekend’s Malayali event. This is going to be amazing! The Federation of British Malayali Association is hosting their event for the entire West Midlands at our school in the Main Hall and in the Activity Studio. We’re expecting 400 members of the public to turn up to enjoy the song and dance celebrations that are being put on.
Anyhow, I best get on now. With all the engineering knowledge that I am acquiring at the rate which I can’t comprehend, I still can’t figure out how to get work to do itself, so for the time being, I’ll have to get it done.
Till next time!
