Since my last blog – which was absolutely ages ago – a lot has been going on. December has come and gone, which brought with it an amazing Christmas party thanks to our great leader.
The Queens Hotel in Leeds was the destination this year. I can seriously recommend the Hotel, a place with great service, a red carpet on arrival and a real oldskool concierge. Of course the party was great and much fun and as usual at Schools Plus Christmas Parties……no-one stopped looking into the bottle when they should have done. Luckily there was a hearty breakfast on offer to easy the usual morning after discomfort felt by many.
So into the new year we go…well, I say that; it’s almost February again!
Compared to last year, this January seems to be even busier with many exciting developments at our venue. Stoke Council have decided to use our school to host a 6-month Functional skills course along with many other exciting introductory course. Counselling for beginners, Creative Photography and Massage Basics make up just a few of the planned courses starting in the next few months.
The cricket season is slowly creeping closer and teams have started using the Sports Hall to practice their skills in readiness for the upcoming summer season.
I’ve just noticed that it’s snowing outside, so I shall have to dash to assess the severity.
Till next time.
