Last week saw the final edition of our 2019 company wide conferences. These quarterly conferences are always a great chance to look back on the past few months, with the December get together being extra special as it allows us to celebrate the entire year we’ve had and look forward into the next one!
It was great to host everyone down in Bournemouth again where our Summer conference took place and also where our Customer Contact Centre is based. The conference opened with everyone in attendance talking about both their own and the company’s greatest achievements of the year. This set the tone for the day, with everyone motivated and in great spirits after looking back on how much we’ve done individually and collectively.
We then got into the business of the day with members of our Senior Leadership Team addressing us all with updates from their various departments. Starting with Andy Halliwell, our Finance Director, who was on-hand to deliver the always anticipated news of how much money we’ve given to schools this year.
We are so proud to announce that 2019 saw us generate £3.6million in additional income for our partner schools, an incredible number that we know makes such a difference and motivates all our staff every single day! In the current economically climate we know that extra financial support can be crucial to our partner schools, so we’re delighted to have helped.
Next, we heard from Mike Jenkinson-Deakin, our HR and Compliance Director who talked to us about what it means to be a Schools Plus ambassador. He has been working on this concept with all of our staff and gave us a powerful speech on what really makes a Schools Plus employee. This is a brilliant template personality guideline for us to kick-start 2020 with.
Sales and Marketing Director, Simon Kidby announced the new sales structure for the company. This will allow us to grasp more sales opportunities and ultimately make more money for our partner schools.
Finally, we heard from Operations Director, Wayne Cryer. He gave us an ops update focusing on the results of our Operational Excellence Audits that take place unannounced at our sites twice a year. This is a tough audit to pass and we are pleased that out of 70 sites we have an average passing of 92%- another great number to end the year on!
That was the end of the business day and we enjoyed a delicious Christmas spread before heading bowling for the afternoon. With time for a quick disco nap, the team then gathered for our Christmas party. A night of food, a few drinks and plenty of dancing followed!
2019 has been another BUSY year for us at Schools Plus and the December Company Conference gave us a great chance to reflect, celebrate and plan for next year! It was great to enjoy some well earned festive celebrations together and end 2019 on a high.
