Today I have been to Chatsworth house Farm for a school nativity play! It was a lovely afternoon the staff at the farm really made an effort and all dressed up in costumes as well as dressing the children up and acting out the traditional nativity scene.
The children were all aged 4 and 5 so I’m sure dressing up and getting the children to remember where to sit and what they were in the nativity was hard work especially as they only had the morning to practise as the parents/carers and grandparents arrived after lunch. They even went to the effort to do the nativity from a barn aptly named Bethlehem and then to my amazement included a real donkey and real sheep!!
All the children seemed to have so much fun as did the sheep who were happily eating the hay in baby Jesus crib! The staff got everyone involved including the adults watching and everyone sang songs and had instruments to play along with!
Now I’m in work at Dinnington High School and it’s foggy and raining however we have our dedicated football teams on the astro turf and the various sports teams in the gyms. It doesn’t seem to bother the young footballers that the weathers not great and its lovely to see their dedication to the sport!
