Event This Thursday 22nd September!
After all the excitement of the Olympics we are very happy to be hosting “Live Sport Talks” at ARK Globe Academy this Thursday 22nd September. Charlie Rowe set this up and every event he welcomes a different sporting personality for a talk and questions. It is a great opportunity to hear from these very inspiring people. Below is a bit from Charlie about the talks:
Founded in 2016, Live Sport Talks is a dedicated live conversation event where YOU can hear from some of the most inspirational sports personalities. Held in an intimate venue, Live Sport Talks gives fans a unique opportunity to hear from their heroes about the highlights and obstacles in their careers; as well as offering an opinion on the current affairs in their sport. Guests will then be offered an opportunity to ask any burning questions in the interactive question and answer session.
Live Sport Talks has been using the Globe Academy for the events, which includes the likes of Olympian medalist swimmer Joanne Jackson and 5 time Paralympian Dan Greaves taking centre stage in the Pentagon Hall.
This is a fantastic idea and a great way for people to connect with their sporting heroes. After watching them all summer in the Olympic games now you can come to the Globe and meet them!
When Charlie first approached me to book out the Pentagon Hall for the talks I thought this was such an interesting event and one that I will certainly want to be attending myself. What these athletes do is so far removed from most of our everyday lives and the commitment and drive that that all have is definitely something we can all learn from. Especially after how well we did this year in the Olympics! And the great news is if you come along and are encouraged to take up a new sport, we have plenty to choose from every day at the Globe! Or if we don’t have the sport you want you might decide to start your own club, we all have to start somewhere but who knows where it will take you!
