Badminton is one of our most popular sports held at the Globe Academy. We have several different badminton events running weekly so if you would like to come and get involved you can!
Clive’s Badminton Social
Clive’s badminton social has been running for over 15 years, first in Peckham, and then in Elephant and Castle. With over 35 years of playing badminton, Clive provides a social and welcome feel to all standards. The range of regular players we already have gives an opportunity for beginners to improve but also provides a good challenge for advanced players. Although some of us can get pretty competitive, all of us want the Social to have a fun and fulfilling atmosphere!
Rackets can be provided but we recommend that you bring your own. Also, we have been reminded recently that there is strictly no smoking allowed on the school premises – it is illegal and could cost us our court booking. Please be aware the Globe Academy has decided to keep the front gate locked from now on, so to get in you have to buzz and they’ll let you in.
There are two sessions running:
7pm till 8:30pm
8:30pm till 10pm
Session fees: Special rate for those RSVPing on Meetup: £5 per person for an individual session £8 per person for both sessions
With no RSVP: £6 per person for an individual session £10 per person for both sessions

Enjoy playing badminton and meeting new friends? Join us at the London Social Badminton Meet Up! We are a friendly and fun group with people from all around the world. We love badminton, we love socialising, we love socialising while playing badminton – you get the idea. So come along – keep fit, meet other badminton players, and have fun!
Saturdays – 2-5pm (3hrs)- Globe Academy, SE1 6AF – Elephant & Castle – £8

SE1 Badminton Group
Welcome to SE1 Badminton Club! Join us every Sunday for 2.5 hours of Badminton in Elephant & Castle. Keep fit, have fun, meet new people and enjoy a drink or lunch afterwards. We’re a very social and welcoming group, and all levels of experience are welcome. We have 4 courts and players rotate on and off courts playing as much as they like.
Each session is £7 per person, and shuttles are provided. We are a not-for-profit meetup – any money left over after paying our running costs is spent on you, our lovely members!
