Indoor Basketball at ARK Globe Academy
Basketball is a fast moving game that involves a lot of variety, including shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, defence and much more. And whether you play to improve your endurance or balance, develop your self-discipline, build muscle or just to have fun, you should remember that it’s so much more than that. Basketball is a fantastic way to build new and long lasting relationships with similar people, all while improving your game and becoming a brilliant team player. The indoor basketball court at Globe Academy is well equipped, in a fantastic location within the city. Indoor basketball not only keeps you warm and dry, but creates a safer environment in which you can play.
The Globe Academy offers a multi-purpose court which begins its life as a flat, polished concrete foundation to be as sturdy as possible. Following this, modular, plastic compound flooring is fitted within the area which provides fantastic traction and an even better bounce. This surface is also advantageous as it allows for the absolute minimum amount of skin abrasions during falls. Using a plastic compound flooring allows for you to use a range of different types of balls; while those that are 100% leather are often only used on hardwood courts, as to not damage them against concrete, they work just as well on our floors. Composite or synthetic leather is the most common material used for indoor play outside of professional leagues as they have the same feeling as leather but have been designed in such a way where they are cheaper to manufacture, in addition to this, even when new, the material has a uniform feel which is soft to the touch without a need to be broken in. Rubber balls are lined with rubber as they can handle the rough concrete surfaces and are ideal of outdoor play.
Our sports hall has capacity for 150 people and can be used for a variety sports including basketball, badminton, football and netball. We also provide changing facilities and onsite parking.
See if you can come and play!
