This weeks blog is all about some of the training the Schools Plus team do in order to make sure they are ready to run your booking safely! All the team have been doing First Aid courses and Safeguarding courses and here is a little about what those entail.
FIRST AID TRAINING AND SAFEGUARDING
Recently, our staff at schools plus took part in both a first aid course as part of training with Schools Plus and an online course in safeguarding.
SAFEGUARDING ESSENTIALS
What is safeguarding?
Safeguarding refers to the protection of vulnerable children and adults, and the ability to deal with situations where any abuse may be present in the workplace. For example, a vulnerable adult could be someone with learning difficulties or a physical disability. At schools plus we take safeguarding extremely seriously, as we particularly have a number of children on our site as part of our churches, therefore we are especially prepared to deal with any child who is feeling unsafe or we believe to be in any danger. With this training, Schools Plus staff are able to recognise and deal with any forms of abuse happening in our school, whether it is physical or psychological. All of our employees are fully informed of how to deal with a person claiming abuse or discomfort, who else they can go to if they are unsure of how to deal with the person, and ways to stay vigilant generally around their workplace, to minimise any risks of harm to anyone on site.
FIRST AID ESSENTIALS
Our employees are also becoming first aid qualified in order to maximise the safety and well being of the groups using our facilities, and have taken part in a first aid course where we have been informed on various types of aid, from how to deal with burns and sprains as well as how to carry out CPR. A first aid box is kept at the reception at all times and every member of staff is aware where the first aid box is kept.
So if you’re thinking of booking any of our facilities, now you know that you and your group are in safe hands!
Hope to see you at the Globe soon!
