We are very excited to welcome a guest post from Alex who runs the Boogie Bounce sessions at Swanage School. She is currently in the school a couple of times a week running various sessions.
“My names Alex, I have a level 3 diploma in fitness instructing and personal training and have recently just started doing Boogie Bounce classes in the Swanage area!
What made me want to teach Boogie Bounce?? ITS FUN! You don’t even feel like you’re doing a workout… until the next day! It is such a good way to get in your exercise as it’s an all in one class; cardio, conditioning and stretching!
We have a fantastic bunch of friendly bouncers who all help and encourage each other, like a little fitness family!
Boogie Bounce is exhilarating! Its a whole body, low impact exercise which is based on the principles of HIIT training on mini trampolines.
Full body cardio work out with a conditioning section at the end, this focuses on chest, triceps, abs and bums!
We have a unique safety T-bar which stabilises us and allows us to do funky moves. Boogie Bounce is suitable for all sizes, abilities and ages! The trampolines take up to 30st. Our adult classes are ages 14+ and we have a Boogie Bounce Kidz class coming in the new year! I currently have 10 trampolines so limited spaces, but will soon be expanding. So, keep a look out!
Boogie Bounce is low impact on the joints. The mat takes away the stress from the joints meaning we can still have a fabulous intense work out without causing any shock or strain to our joints, soft tissue and skeleton. It has also been proven to rehabilitate injuries and help people get back to full fitness!!
Increase your cardiovascular fitness, your heart and lungs will thank you no end! You will benefit from increased heart & lung health, strength, and functioning, respiration and related physiological functions. Bouncing will increase your lymphatic fluid and get it pumping around your body, the more you bounce the more you pump!! This increase in lymphatic fluid being pumped will help to detoxify your body and lead to a boosted immune system helping fight off those nasty infections and diseases!!
You can increase your physical strength, coordination, balance and flexibility! It’s also amazing for your core as we are constantly using it throughout the whole session!
Burn between 400-800 calories. The harder you bounce the more you burn!!
We do Boogie Bounce either bare footed or with non-slip socks (which can be purchased in the class!) this is because we have loads of ligaments, bones, muscles and joints in the feet that need to be stretched and strengthened naturally, wearing trainers takes this away! So, kick off them shoes and focus on your soles!
We also have a Boogie Bounce Revolution Circuit Training class which has just started! This uses the trampolines and floor work, incorporating weights! Circuit training with a difference!
All classes are held at The Swanage School. We have air conditioning and free parking making it the perfect venue to hold our classes!!
Boogie Bounce Xtreme Swanage is held every Monday, Tuesday & Friday at 6.30pm and our Revolution classes are held on Mondays at 7.45pm!
Schools Plus staff are amazing with helping me set up class and pack away at the end! Please be mindful that it does take time and a lot of effort to set up the trampolines and pack away at the end of class! I’m extremely grateful to them for their assistance! Plus, some of my amazing regular bouncers help me too!
