Last year we were honoured to work alongside Crisis at Christmas here at Harris Academy Bermondsey. This year we will be doing it all again and we couldn’t be happier to help this rewarding cause once again.
Unfortunately, not much was posted last year, but this year we will make sure to keep you updated through Twitter and this blog so you definitely will not miss out on what we’re doing and what’s going on over Christmas here.
For those of you, who don’t know what Crisis is, this charity specialises in supporting single homeless people with the motto ‘Homelessness Ends Here’.
And since Christmas is the time of the year we all probably make the extra effort to spend time with our family, friends and all the people we love in our lives (at least, that’s what Christmas means to me), this can be a rather difficult time for people who do not have a place they can call home.
As for us here at Harris Academy Bermondsey, we will open up our doors on the 20th December straight through until the 30th, acting as a point of contact for anything and everything the wonderful Crisis staff might need. Even though this will be our main purpose, I for one cannot wait to get involved and assist wherever I can. That being said, I am sure all other Schools Plus staff who will be working with us are equally as eager as I am.
