If you do not follow to guidelines for a healthy and balanced diet or meet you’re nutritional needs, the more likely you are to develop health complications. The following are some medical conditions associated with bad health, nutrition and diet:
Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)-
This can be caused by eating large meals containing a lot of simple carbohydrates, such as fruits, milk and vegetables. This causes too much insulin to be released which causes a ‘crash’ in blood sugar.
Diabetes-
This is caused by overstressing the pancreas to produce insulin can cause the pancreas to stop working properly. The common causes include: being overweight, not exercising enough and eating lots of refined sugars.
Obesity-
Large amounts of fat are being stored in the body cells. The causes of obesity can include overeating, poor nutrition and a lack of exercise.
High cholesterol-
This is the build up of cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol is a natural fat-like substance that plays a role in how every cell works. High cholesterol levels can be caused by being overweight, drinking too much alcohol, highly saturated foods and not exercising enough.
High blood pressure-
The arteries are becoming less elastic and are ‘furring up’. This can be caused by obesity, smoking, lack of exercise, eating too much salt, drinking too much alcohol and eating too much fatty foods.
Heart disease-
This is the narrowing of arteries and the presence of blood clots. This is possibly caused by being overweight, not enough exercise, too much alcohol, eating too much salt, smoking, eating too much fat and stress.
