The Dance studio at King Harold Academy is spacious and is a well lit room, which can hold up to 50 people. There are features in this room such as hand rails and mirrors on the walls. These features are there not just as a decoration but to help the rooms users improve and perfect the activity they are doing, such as Dancing, Yoga, Fitness training and Martial Arts.
The Mirrors
When people think of mirrors in a sports setting, they think of posers in a gym who just stand there and look at themselves, admiring how good they look. Though that is one use of mirrors in sports facilities it’s not the main reason, they are installed to help users watch their form and how they are performing the activity they are completing. So if you are dancing then seeing yourself in a mirror will show you how your body posture looks as you move. The way the dance looks when its being performed, so if a move or sequence isn’t working you can see in the mirror as you perform and correct it.
The mirrors are a useful tool for teachers and instructors as well. If the teacher/instructor has a large number of people attending their class/session. The use of mirrors helps them notice all the participants in the class and just like above the teacher/instructor can watch everybody and quickly identify anybody who is struggling or doing something incorrectly.
The Hand Rails
Just like the mirrors hand rails are another useful tool to have in the dance studio. They can be used to help with balance while in difficult positions, and they help you improve the posture of the body when trying a new exercise or balance position. They are also used to help with warm up and cool down routines, again with balancing when you do certain stretches, until your balance and posture improves and you can do everything on your own.
