As we approach that Halloween time of year again, everywhere you go, you see pumpkins stacked high. These are mostly sold to be carved and then sadly dumped into landfill. Apparently, they create hundreds of tonnes of waste every year. So this year we are being encouraged to ‘rescue a pumpkin’. No, you don’t have to adopt one, you just have to commit to eating it, or putting it to good use. Pumpkin soup here we come!
Looking around, Halloween has become a huge industry and for children, heralds the countdown to Christmas. My children always looked forward to it, then bonfire night, and then its almost Christmas. Weather is becoming more Halloween appropriate now, with temperatures plummeting and the smell of wood burning in the air. Central heating has started to kick in, and football clubs are now in full swing.
Unbelieveably, my Astroturf is pretty much booked out, and I only have Friday night availability now. I’m thinking of running some offers to get it booked up, if anyone is thinking of booking some practice time, get in touch!h There are also lovely classrooms available if someone wants to run a Pumpkin carving class, or Halloween activites over half term? Thinking of crafts, we have facilities that would work for many craft activities- making Christmassy things for instance. The wonderful hall would be great for holding a craft fair.
The possibilities are endless, and I’m here to help find you the right space.
