The state-of-the-art St Mary’s & Homerton Sports Ground opened as a joint venture between St Mary\u2019s School, Cambridge and Homerton College. The impressive site contains a host of sporting facilities including a 3G Pitch, Multi-Use Games Area and Hockey Pitch.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the opening of St Mary’s & Homerton Sports Ground, Headmistress of St Mary\u2019s School and Vice-President of the Girls\u2019 School Association, Charlotte Avery, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted that our sports fields will be developed to continue to keep young people fit and healthy for decades to come, and to be working in partnership with Homerton College on this venture.<\/p>\n

The fact that the wider community will also benefit from this redevelopment is of great importance to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bursar of Homerton College, Deborah Griffin OBE, said:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is great news for Homerton students and for St Mary\u2019s School \u2013 it\u2019s increasingly important for student wellbeing that they have a focus in their lives besides academic work.\u00a0 The partnership between Homerton and St Mary\u2019s has been very productive for our institutions, and the proposal adds an important new facility for Cambridge community use\u201d.<\/p>\n
