Welcome back to another week of our Schools Plus Interview series – Who do you think we are?
In this weekly series members of the Schools Plus team will be asked a series of questions about them and their job here at Schools Plus. We thought this would be a great way to find out more about Schools Plus staff. There is a huge array of jobs and people here at Schools Plus so every interview will be totally different. You will get an insight into their day to day life, their time before Schools Plus and a bit more about the team.

What is your role at Schools Plus?
Area Manager
As Schools Plus is all over the country where are you based?
I am based in the Midlands but cover schools as far North as Sunderland and as far south as Essex. Shortly I will be taking responsibility for four sites in Norwich too so I am responsible for a huge geographical area.
How long have you worked for Schools Plus?
I have worked for Schools Plus since August 2016
What did you do before you worked at Schools Plus?
I worked within the Retail Sector for 30 years and progressed to the role of Deputy Retail Director within a national menswear chain.
What is your favourite part about working for Schools Plus?
I genuinely feel that through the work that I do with Schools Plus in maximising lettings revenue, that myself and my teams are supporting and helping schools and the local communities which I find very rewarding.
Can you describe a typical working day for you?
Each day at Schools Plus is different and that diversity appeals to me. Whether it is meeting a client, completing an Operations Report with a VM, visiting potential new sites or meeting with the other Area Managers to review performance, there is always lots to do!
What do you think the future holds for Schools Plus?
When I look at the calibre of the people within the business and their collective work ethic, I am confident about the future of Schools Plus. I believe that in time we can become a large, thriving, and hugely successful business.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
In my spare time I design, print and publish limited edition angling books which are sold through my company website. My company is called The Little Egret Press and I really enjoy the creative outlet that this sideline affords me.
You are a crayon in the box what colour would you be and why?
Green. It has always been my favourite colour and to me represents the growth, harmony and the countryside, which I have always loved.
Finally, what is your favourite song and why?
In My Life by The Beatles as it reminds me of my childhood and people who are no longer here.
